Spotlight: Youth In Adult Facilities
Connecticut still has youth incarcerated in adult facilities, despite studies showing that such practices are tainted by racial and ethnic disparities, do not provide proper treatment for youth offenders, and do not meaningfully improve public safety.
Federal law mandates that all youth must be out of adult facilities by 2021: we urge Connecticut officials to accelerate that timeline, especially considering the inequities of the system.
