Bridgeport Chapter

Shannone Hawkins
I have always been very passionate about Education and Juvenile Justice Reform. I believe it is my purpose to turn my passion into power and educate those within my community about ending Youth Criminalization and Incarceration.
The Justice Advisors Program brings the community together by allowing them to have a voice and an opportunity at remodeling the Justice Juvenile Systems and its policies.

Tiana Krause
As a Justice Advisor I want to promote progressive juvenile justice reforms that prioritize rehabilitation over punishment. Negative reinforcement further traumatizes inmates, increasing the likelihood of recidivism.
I am an administrative intern at Bridgeport Gen Now; and Executive Director of Bridgeport Student Voice, a youth-led organization providing a support network to local students.

Tatiyana Whitley
As youth, we tend to underestimate our own worth and the value we can bring to juvenile justice policy. The Justice Advisors program reminds those who have been in the system that they still have a chance.
My goal is to raise community awareness around youth incarceration and to promote reforms that improve the experiences of youth in prison.

Theodore Jordan
Theo is a 24-year-old Bridgeport native dedicated to uplifting the youth in his community. Due to his first-hand experience with the juvenile justice system, he is committed to activism and organizing in order to prevent others from experiencing the same.

Jordyn Wilson
My near-term goal as a Justice Advisor is to change the current juvenile justice system by advocating for reforms that prioritize rehabilitation over punishment. Ultimately, I want to see an end to the criminalization of youth; but in the meantime, I can open the door so younger voices can be heard.
I am studying Justice and Law Administration with a concentration in Corrections, Probation, and Parole at Western Connecticut State University (‘20).
New Haven Chapter

Tenille Bonilla
You have to care about and work with the people around you to make change. As a Justice Advisor I plan to learn from my peers, and work as well as I can with them to improve our communities while attempting to make the system safer and more sustainable for youth.

Marco Pujols
My goal as a Justice Advisor is to be a voice for those who feel they have none, to provide opportunity for my fellow youth and most importantly bring awareness to the fact that people make mistakes, and do bad things but that doesn’t mean they’re bad in spirit, nor does it mean they’re hopeless or unable to be driven in the right direction.

Simone Davis
Growing up in New Haven, I learned that relationship-building in our community is key. As a college student here, my view of social issues and the justice system has become more focused on the need for transparency and for youth-centered reform.
As a Justice Advisor, I can turn my passion for community well-being into action: connecting with local youth, addressing police use of force, increasing public awareness of policies, and analyzing current community resources.

Michael Smith
As an artist born and raised in New Haven, I have a passion for basketball and bettering my community. Having had my own personal experiences, I would love to help fix the system in any way possible.
